Montardo (2833m) is probably the best-known mountain in Val d’Aran. Its height provides a perfect viewpoint affording magnificent views over many other high mountains in this small area.

It is located in the south of the county, in the northernmost part of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park.
