The laws protecting Cap de Creus Natural Park make it one of the most singular places in the Iberian Peninsula. The protected area covers a total of 13,886 hectares (10,813 land hectares and 3,073 sea hectares) spanning the municipalities of El Port de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, Llançà, Cadaqués, Palau-saverdera, Pau, Roses and Vilajuïga.
